What is a Goldendoodle?
Goldendoodles are the cross between the Golden Retriever and Poodle.
"Teddy Bear" type Goldendoodles are bred from an English Golden retriever and Poodle.
Mini Goldendoodles have a miniature Poodle parent and avg 20-45 lbs
F1b Goldendoodles are the result of breeding a 1st Generation Goldendoodle back to a poodle.
This type of Goldendoodle is recommended for those with moderate to severe allergies.
Like all Poodle cross dog types, goldendoodles are often suitable for people with mild to
moderate allergies to dog hair and dander. Goldendoodles are solid through the body and
very shaggy retriever with longer ears, long squared muzzle, bright alert eyes and a happy go
lucky attitude towards life.
Goldendoodles are known for the outstanding temperament of this hybrid breed.
Goldendoodles make ideal family pets, good with kids of all ages, elderly people, other dogs
and even non-canine pets. Although Goldendoodles are friendly dogs they are good
watchdogs and will bark when someone they don't know approaches.
Considered to be very easy to train, the Goldendoodle when given the opportunity, will almost
house train itself. They are very clean dogs and with their low shedding hair are excellent
indoor pets. Despite their full wavy coats they prefer to be inside with the family rather than
as outside dogs. Highly intelligent the Goldendoodle is easy to train and excels at obedience
and agility type training.
As a retriever and Poodle cross they love the water and are outstanding at playing fetch,
which is a great way to exercise your puppy and have fun at the same time.
Goldendoodles are often selected for careers in service to humans as Guide Dogs, Therapy
Dogs and other types of assistance dogs.
